Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and discuss what is bringing you to therapy. We'll talk about your goals, what's been challenging, and what you hope to gain from the process of therapy. You don't need to prepare anything - just come as you are!
I want to acknowledge that therapy can be uncomfortable. I will start as a stranger to you, but ideally turn into someone you trust, are open, and safe with. We all need an unbiased ear to listen and a unjudgmental shoulder to lean on in the chaos of our world today.
Each session is 50 minutes long and will end with payment of $130.
Payments accepted: cash, debit card, credit card, HSA or FSA card.
Extended sessions may be available upon request.
At this time, I am private pay only. This means I am considered an out-of-network provider by insurance companies. I can walk you through how to check those benefits in regard to what reimbursements you may be able to receive.
I decided this method for the intention to provide a better level of care that is tailored to each client’s unique needs without the impact of external policies. Insurance companies can impose restrictions on both type and length of therapy, along with the requirement of a diagnosis to cover services. This can limit the therapeutic process and compromise the privacy of our work together.
I understand that the absence of direct insurance coverage could create financial challenges. In attempt to resolve this, I provide flexibility in appointment frequency – along with two additional options:
One: A sliding scale.
A sliding scale allows me to offer a limited number of sessions at a reduced rate. Currently, these positions are full; you may reach out to be put on my sliding scale waitlist.
Two: A super bill.
A super bill is provided monthly, by request. I provide a detailed document to you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Reimbursement is solely based your submission of this claim and your providers coverage.
Because your session time is reserved just for you, I ask you provide at least a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than a 24-hour notice are billed the fee of a full session.
YES! What is said in therapy, stays in therapy.
The exceptions are - I provide written consent, or I am causing harm and/or threatening danger to myself or others.
