BALANCED LIFE COUNSELING, LLC

MEGAN TURNER, MS, LPC, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor  |  National Certified Counselor

Hello - I'm so glad you're here!

Megan Turner, MS, LPC, NCC

Counseling can be vulnerable, uncomfortable, and challenging; yet also healing, expansive, and understanding - I acknowledge all of this as walk together on the journey to find your balance.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and the founder of Balanced Life Counseling, LLC. But more importantly, I’m someone who knows healing doesn’t look perfect or the same for everyone.

I became a therapist because I’ve seen how powerful it is when people finally feel safe enough to be real. We’ll talk openly about what’s working, what’s hard, and what needs to change.

I started this practice because I believe everyone deserves space to breathe, reflect, and find balance in a world that rarely slows down. I believe therapy should feel real — not clinical or forced. My approach is honest, compassionate, and down-to-earth, mixed with humor, reflection, and growth. I don’t believe in forcing progress or sugarcoating reality.

My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, build tools that work for real life, and create lasting change.

My Approach

I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation — honest, compassionate, and focused on what matters most to you.

My style is straightforward and down-to-earth, mixed with humor, acceptance, and empowerment. Together, we’ll look at what’s working, what isn’t, and what you want life to feel like moving forward.

I pull from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and person-centered work, blending them to fit your needs and pace.

You don’t have to have it all figured out  we’ll take it one intentional step at a time.

- Feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed

- Navigating big life changes or identity shifts

LGBTQ+ accepting & affirming | Kink aware & accepting | PMADs educated & trained | EMDR trained |

Many people are navigating change, healing from past experiences, or wanting to feel more connected to themselves and others. Therapy not only offers space to explore and understand what you are experiencing, but it allows you to have to create new ways of relating, coping, and growing in a safe, judgement free place.

IDENTITY & SELF-ACCEPTANCE

Safety and acceptance for all identities and expressions. As we explore your sexual orientation, gender identity, kink, and other aspects of self - including parts that can carry shame; we will cultivate authenticity, compassion, and self-worth.

RELATIONSHIPS & BOUNDARIES

Guidance in improving communication, relationship patterns, codependency, and people-pleasing. By adapting your communication, breaking old patterns, and creating boundaries led by your needs, you can heal in your connections.

TRAUMA & GRIEF

Support and healing after loss, trauma, or a life change that is big for you. Rebuilding safety and meaning to yourself can help during and after these difficult times to begin reshaping the connection with yourself and those around you.

EMOTIONAL WELLBEING

Navigation and support for anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotions you're struggle with. Understanding and finding personalized ways to navigate your emotions in a healthy way can pave a path for balance in your daily life.

What to Expect

Our first session is a calm, open space to talk about what’s been going on and what you’d like to change. You can bring whatever feels important or not even know where to start. My role is to help you make sense of what’s happening and begin finding steadier ground. You set the pace — and I’ll meet you where you are.

Sessions are 50 minutes, offered in-person or telehealth for Alabama residents.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process.

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation.

If you're curious if we are a good fit, let's talk about it  no pressure, no commitment
